Craftsmanship & Technique
Through passion and tradition, our garments are skillfully crafted internationally with our team overlooking the process and the quality of the final product.
Every detail is given the utmost attention. From the luxurious fabric to the intricate embroidery and embellishments. Even the delicate tassels, which are handmade and take 5-10 minutes to assemble individually. The colorful fringe around the collar of many of our styles requires about an hour of work to make just one yard of fringe. For instance, a single MARCH11 dress can require up to 7 yards of fringe which translates to up to a day of work just on this detail.
It takes years of experience and up to 6 hours to hand finish each Vyshyvanka dress.
We are honored to use hand work in the making of our garments. One of the techniques is called Sbyranka (which means gathering in Ukrainian). This is an ancient technique of fabric manipulation when the seamstress folds the fabric in an accordion style to ensure there is an even distance between each fold. Layers of threads are strung between folds organizing the folds beautifully on collar and cuffs. This routine allows the garment to have a flawless finish and requires about 4-6 hours of work for each garment. This is a very time consuming and strenuous process which is why many brands have stopped using it. MARCH11 has modernized this technique and implemented into every one of our Vyshyvanka styles.
